11) Waystation for Mars?
Gateway’s design stays to be evolving, and it is arduous to make predictions about the way in which it should assist lunar exploration, to not point out Mars exploration. In 2020, for example, media reviews indicated that Gateway will be far from the “essential path” to Artemis exploration. Nonetheless, NASA maintains that many of the “lessons found” from Artemis and Gateway may be useful for eventual Mars exploration, ranging from how one can present astronauts from distant, to sustaining crew members safe, to learning to “reside off the land” on one different world via in-situ helpful useful resource utilization.
Whereas Mars connections keep speculative and subject to change, earlier proposals for Gateway with regard to the Crimson Planet embrace using it as a waystation for samples, construct up worldwide partnerships with a watch to preparing for Mars, and using Gateway as a “Mars analog” to rearrange for Crimson Planet missions.
