RStat
Which R version is RStat based on?
RStat 2.4.1 is based on R 2.4.1. We are currently preparing RStat 2.5.1, which should be available by the end of September 2007. Professiolnal and Enterprise customers will automataically recieve this version when it becomes available.
What add-in packages are included in RStat?
There are two types of add-in packages included with RStat, "supported" and "contributed". Technical support is provided for "Supported" packages, which are installed as part of the RStat program. "Contributed" packages are included on the shipped CD-ROM, and may optionally be installed by the system administrator or end user.
Supported packages in R 2.4.1 include: boot, cluster, Design, foreign, gdata, gmodels, gplots, gtools, Hmisc, KernSmooth, lattice, mgcv, nlme, rpart, survival, and VR.
All contributed packages available on CRAN are provided on the shipped CD. See http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/PACKAGES.html for a complete list.
Are updated versions included in the purchase price?
Professional and Enterprise editions of RStat include all new versions of RStat released during the support period. Personal editions do not.
How is RStat different from R from the R-Project (http://r-project.org)?
RStat is an enhanced version of R from the R Project. In addition to performing the testing and documentation necessary for providing high-quality installation and technical support, we have added a small number of key features. These features include

Is RStat compatible with add-on packages for the R-Project's R?
Yes. Any package that will functon properly with R 2.4.1 will also function properly with RStat 2.4.1.
Is RStat "Open Source"?
- Yes. RStat is licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/) Consequently, the complete source code is available on request.
